■ I learned that debating is more about reasoning, not arguing. It’s as much about getting your message across as listening to what others have to say. It’s more about being open-minded and tolerant than outwitting others or winning the game. Ignite curiosity and inspire action. That’s what debating is all about.

我了解到，辯論更多的是講道理，而不是爭論。它既要傳達你的信息，也要傾聽別人的意見。與戰(zhàn)勝他人或贏得比賽相比，更重要的是要有開放的心態(tài)和寬容的態(tài)度。點燃好奇心，激發(fā)行動。這就是辯論的意義所在。

一、如何學好英文？

The professor told us if we want to learn English well, we need to talk in English and think in English and listen.

I try to think in English critically, every minute, every day for the rest of my undergraduate years. I talk to myself in English all the time; I talk to myself in English in my dreams.

二、如何像英文母語者一樣講話？

1. Basic skills matter. Pronunciation, intonation and grammar. Your voice emotion, pitch and pace. Those seemingly trivial details shape the first impression.

2. Get every single detail right and you will shine. You need to know how to carry yourself on stage, to drive your point home.

Three As: Aspiring ：Open a window, a wider world. Debating nurtures an inquisitive mind and a compassionate heart.
