學習英語中，我們會遇到很多“坑”。比如一個詞首字母大小寫區(qū)分開就有了完全不一樣的意思。
舉個常見的例子：Japan是“日本”，japan卻是指日本的“漆器“，或者一種日本“亮漆”涂料。
同時japan還可以作動詞，表示“在…上涂漆，涂漆使…光亮”，過去式、過去分詞是japanned，現(xiàn)在分詞是japanning。
例句：
a japanned bowl 上黑亮漆的碗/黑漆碗
其實，除了Japan/japan，因首字母大小寫導致意思不同的英語單詞還有很多。
1、國家/地區(qū)/城市名字類的有：
China 中國
china 瓷器
The produce was labelled "Made in China."
該產(chǎn)品上貼有“中國制造”的標簽。
Xiaojiang uses her good china when she has company for dinner.
有賓客來吃飯時，小醬就用質(zhì)量好的瓷餐具。
Shanghai 上海
shanghai 誘拐，誘騙
Shanghai is a city on the east coast of China.
上海是中國一個東部沿海城市。
Xiaojiang shanghaied him into buying her a mink coat.
小醬用誘騙的手段迫使他買給她一件貂皮大衣。
Turkey 土耳其
turkey 火雞；失??；笨蛋/草包；
We raise turkeys mainly for the Christmas market.
我們飼養(yǎng)火雞主要是為了供應圣誕節(jié)期間的市場。
His latest movie is a real turkey.
他最近的那部電影是一大敗筆。
What did you do that for, you turkey?

Polish 波蘭人

august (因高齡、德行等)可敬的；(建筑物等)莊嚴的，雄偉

廁所在哪？
【注意】這里加了定冠詞the，后面john首字母小寫，指的是“盥洗室，廁所”，尤指男公共廁所。
