For Sale or On Sale？
很多人一看到sale這個單詞
就會馬上以為是
“打折；促銷”的意思，
以為for sale和on sale是一樣的
不過......
這兩個詞組的意思是不一樣的！
For sale的意思是offered to be sold; made available to purchasers（愿意出售的;可提供給購買者）
On sale的意思是able to be bought at reduced prices（可以以較低的價格購買）
If something is for sale, you can buy it. If something is on sale, you can buy it at a discount.
如果有東西是for sale，那就是說你可以買它。如果某物是on sale，那就是說你可以打折買它。
我們用下邊幾個例子來加深一下理解：

Student A: "I need to buy a widget."
我需要買個小玩意。
Student B: "Go to Jumbo. They have them for sale."
去珍寶吧。他們那有賣的。

Student A: "I bought my new skis for 900 Swiss Francs."
我花900瑞士法郎買了個新滑雪板。
Student B: "Hah! I got mine on sale for 450 SF!"
哈!我在促銷的時候買的花了450！
Often stores perpetually have On Sale signs in their windows, even if the items might not be discounted, and they should be displaying For Sale. Sometimes they will simply show Sale, in which case they imply On Sale.
通常商店的櫥窗里總是掛著On Sale的牌子，即使商品可能沒有打折，其實應(yīng)該是For Sale的。有時他們只是簡單地寫個Sale，在這種情況下，他們暗示在促銷。
